GOOD NEWS FOR MALAWI’S CHILDREN
The Nyasa Times, the Blantrye based online newspaper (www. nyasatimes. com) has reported, 1st November that Sarah Brown, wife of U.K. Prime Minister Gordon Brown has launched her new book entitled “Malawi’s Under-Privileged Mothers", proceeds of which will go to Malawi’s sick children.
This is her second book, the first of which raised £100,000 for the children’s hospital in Lilongwe, in the Anglican Diocese of Lake Malawi. The Royal Bank of Scotland is sponsoring production costs.
In this second book Sara tells her own personal story of losing her first-born child who was born premature. She says that she is extremely concerned for the many women who lose their children due to childbirth complications. In Malawi this is purported to be around 10 percent of the birthrate.
